Drupal FeedAPI Imagegrabber
4 Comment(s)Jul 14, 2009
Srijan sponsored the development of a FeedAPI Imagegrabber module in April 2008 (unfortunately we never talked about it on our blog earlier). We have this policy of getting interns from India's top colleges to work on community projects or internal project initiatives with Drupal and sometimes with TYPO3 as well. FeedAPI Imagegrabber was a result of this internship programme at Srijan.
Overview FeedAPI Imagegrabber module is an add-on module for FeedAPI module just like FeedAPI Inherit, etc. FeedAPI ImageGrabber module consists of a parser which visits the original URL of a new feed item, and retrieves the main image from the posting. Once the main image has been retrieved, it is then converted into a thumbnail using the ImageCache module, and stored in the node created by FeedAPI, inside an ImageField CCK field. Visit the project page at drupal.org : FeedAPI Imagegrabber.
